Cassidy and Ryan's Double Micro Wedding
This double wedding was one of the most exceptionally special weddings I have ever been a part of.
The bride is a communications and development director for the animal shelter, the groom is an incredible bassist and plays in 3 local bands and they are high school sweethearts who waited nearly fifteen years to marry. The bride wanted to elope and has always wanted a family only backyard ceremony but as she was in her planning process, she kept bringing up this group of friends that her and the groom have been close with since they met. They met freshman year of high school and have been nearly inseparable as a friend group and a couple since then. I suggested that perhaps she should consider doing a second event - a party - as a surprise with all their friends for the groom. So we went for it! She pulled off a successful surprise for the groom and they had a commitment ceremony surrounded by their friends of 20+ years.
Everyone at the party was given a chance to give a speech - and in my 10+ years in the business I have never heard funnier or more heartfelt speeches - an open mic usually terrifies me as a coordinator, but this was absolutely the right move for this crew.
The bride wanted this part of their festivities to reflect and honor all their life long friendships and create a really down to earth environment where they could have fun and celebrate their shared love of music, and pay homage to some of the Groom's favorite places in their home town - the legendary dive bars of Bozeman, MT. We created their own private 70's dive bar complete with pizza, cheap beer, and tequila. She curated a playlist of all their friends' favorite party songs, and they danced to Blink-182, everyone singing every lyric to every song and dancing their hearts out.

For their elopement/micro wedding ceremony the following weekend, they were married by the Bride's father on a crisp and sunny fall afternoon, they served hand selected wines from Sommelier Jill Roberts, and charcuterie boards from Savor and Graze.
For this part of the event the bride wanted to celebrate another part of their life together, a shared love of reading and highlight her love of dark academia decor and Scottish highlands inspired elements. Each of the books selected and featured on the table have special meaning to the bride or her family and we went with black candles and dark hues with mosses and lots of candle light to really bring the feeling to life.
